Player(s) demonstrating improvement in skill and ability over the course of the season through a consistent work ethic.
A player providing endless emotion, leadership and motivation for the team both on and off the field.
For the player who has strived for and maintained the highest core subject average during the course of the season.
For the Offensive Lineman demonstrating great blocking ability and domination along the line of scrimmage due to great work ethic.
For the Defensive Lineman demonstrating great awareness, pursuit and the ability to dominate a line of scrimmage due to great work ethic.
Parents and other photographers are welcome to submit photos to this website as we like to post the most exciting action shots possible to depict the high level of football that is played in this league. Photos may also be selected for use in the year end slide show.
Photos are also often shared with The Sherwood Park News and this webmaster also likes to post plays that show the teams best efforts at various skills and team effort.
At the year end banquet the Bisons like to celebrate the hard work, successes and some failures of the season just ended no matter the outcome. Sometimes we win, Sometimes we learn!
For the defensive Line Backer or Back demonstrating the ability to be a leader on the defense and make big plays when the team has needed them most.
For the Linebacker or DB demonstrating the ability to be a leader on defense and to make big plays when they are needed the most.
For the first year player making a significant contribution to the team both on and off the field and demonstrating playmaking ability above expectations for a first year player.
For the player who was the greatest asset to the offense and could affect the outcomes of games through their ability to raise their level of play to meet all challenges.
MVP SPECIAL TEAMS
For the player who contributed most consistently to special teams play.
For the player who was the greatest asset to the defense and could take charge of a game through their defensive awareness and playmaking abilities.
For the most outstanding Bison player who always strives for excellence through continuous hard work and is able to take control of games by exhibiting outstanding skill and ability. This player is considered to be the greatest asset to the overall team.
Most valuable contribution by a single player(s) to the regular searson games and post season playoff games.
BIG HIT AWARD
Player that contributes the Playoffs most outstanding contact tackle or hit. Formerly known as the HEAD HUNTER AWARD -
Awarded to the Miles Conference MVP. This award is voted on by other Head Coaches in
the High School Football League.
